I Have Hereunto Set My Hand... The Final Edition

For whatever strange Blogger reason, this post never went live. In any event, go here to check out the third and final historic Presidential Proclamation from today for the Establishment of the Rose Atoll Marine National Monument.

Rose Atoll lies approximately 130 nautical miles east-southeast of Pago Pago Harbor, in the US territory of American Samoa. It is the easternmost Samoan island and the southernmost point of the United States.

I never made it to Rose Atoll during my visit to American Samoa in 2007 (I was stuck in Pago Pago for a meeting and overdosing on fried food). But Rose Atoll's remoteness is key to it's near pristine condition and abundant coral cover.
